Where's the Net?
Faiths Act is spearheading a global relay between people of diverse faiths who are racing towards the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goal of zero malaria deaths by 2015.
Where’s The Net? is a global interfaith initiative aimed at raising awareness about malaria across the world. From February until June 2012, symbolic net displays will pass from community to community worldwide. The net’s journey and its stops along the way will spotlight people of diverse faiths and cultures uniting to take action to end deaths from malaria. These nets will be carried by Official Net Bearers who represent different nations, faiths, creeds, genders and backgrounds- demonstrating that we all have a role to play together in ending the scourge of malaria.
The symbol for the campaign is a blue Long-Lasting Insecticide Net (LLINs), which can help protect people from contracting malaria at night from mosquitoes. Along the way, the net will capture stories of hope and progress - of faith as a force for good in the fight against one of the world’s most preventable killers. People will be adding their personal commitments and inspirations through baggage tags that will be tied onto the Net.
You can still get involved with this global initiative by:
Donate a net with a click: Everyone in the world can take part in the Where's the Net Campaign. For every 10 new people following the Net's journey on our social media threads, Sumitomo Chemical will donate a mosquito net to Malaria No More UK to help prevent malaria.
