Carolyn Worthge
Carolyn Worthge is 22 years old and originally from San Mateo, California. Carolyn is a Christian and grew up in the E.L.C.A. Lutheran church. Her faith has inspired her to volunteer with HIV/AIDS organisations.
For the past two years, she has been interning with Cascade AIDS Project, the largest HIV/AIDS service and education provider in Oregon and Southwest Washington, in the education and development departments.
Carolyn graduated this year from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon with a degree in Sociology and minor in Music and is considering earning an MBA in non-profit management in her future. While at Lewis & Clark, she had the opportunity to travel to Ghana and research transnational religion and Ghanaian dancing.
In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys baking various treats for everyone she knows, singing with her a cappella group, and exploring new places.
Adeela Tajdar
Adeela Tajdar is a 24-year-old American Muslim originally from Darien, Connecticut. She graduated with a degree in International Relations from the College of William and Mary in 2009.
She has spent the past year working for Project Nur, an initiative of the American Islamic Congress. At Project Nur, she aided students in event planning and community organising, working to build an inclusive space on college campuses for people of all backgrounds to explore the complexity of the Muslim world and advocate for human rights worldwide.
Adeela has family in Karachi, Pakistan and Doha, Qatar, and although she loves to visit them abroad, she is excited to return home to the States for the Fellowship
