Kami Tressler in Salt Lake, USA
Kami is a teacher at Hillcrest High School in Salt Lake, USA. Along with her World Civilisation’s Class she organised a plethora of activities to raise funds and awareness around World Malaria Day 2011.
She organised a Fun Run/Walk, collected donations for bed nets from local businesses as well as from teachers and students in the school. Each class was tasked with raising the most amount of money that they could and the class that raised the most was awarded with a doughnut party! Kami’s efforts show that raising funds and awareness to help end deaths from malaria can be fun and inventive. Not only did she inspire her school to get involved but she encouraged her local community to as well.
