Faiths Act Global Briefings are conversations between global leaders and grassroots activists just like you.  Global Briefings from the last year are all free to download here. Listen and learn about world faiths and their response to malaria and the MDGs. So listen, learn – then take action.

Hear it from a Faiths Act Fellow

Listen to Faiths Act Fellowship alumni and staff discussing the impact Faiths Act Fellows have on advancing the UN Millennium Development Goals and how you can get involved! Erin Toolis and Nadeem Javaid share why they applied to be Faiths Act Fellows, stories from their year and how the Fellowship has impacted their lives. Faiths Act Fellowship staff also give updates about the application process.

Be inspired by a personal story of change

Eboo Patel, founder of Interfaith Youth Core and a member of President Obama’s Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships will talk about his own history of youth activism and why interfaith leadership at universities can transform society at home and abroad.  Find out how your faith-based group might join with others as part of the Interfaith Youth Core’s Better Together campaign. You will also hear from other innovative networks that harness student power to create social change around the world.  Discover the resources that already exist to help you be the change you want to see!

Pakistani Flood Disaster

Find out how the floods in Pakistan have impacted a school in Hyderabad from its founder, Danish Jatoi.  Faiths Act Fellow Alum Ushna Mughal speaks with Danish as well as Zeyba Rahman and Kalsoom Lakhani, two Faiths Act supporters from New York and Washington DC who were inspired by their culture and faith to create Relief4Pakistan.

Voices from Africa on the MDGs

Faiths Act Fellow Alum Pritpal Kaur Riat talked with Charles Abugre Akelyira, the United Nation’s Development Programme’s African Director on outcomes from the UN Millennium Development Goals Summit in New York. Pritpal also spoke to an advocate for interfaith cooperation to fight malaria in Nigeria as well as a Faiths Act supporter from Uganda to find out how communities on the ground in Africa have felt the impact of the MDGs.

Stand up, take action and make some noise

Faiths Act Alum Seán Rose wants you to Stand Up, Take Action, and Make a Noise for the Millennium Development Goals with Sarah Farnsworth of the United Nation’s Development Program and Hugh Evans, founder of the Global Poverty Project.

World Religious Leaders Summit

When religious leaders from around the world came together for the 2010 Summit in Canada, Faiths Act youth were there.  Faiths Act Fellow Alum Hilary Keachie speaks with Moderator Mardi Tindal of the United Church in Canada and Reverend Yoshinobu Miyake (Shinto) from Japan about the Summit, its Interfaith Statement, and the introduction of youth delegates.
