Faiths Act Fellows Alumni
The Faiths Act Fellows Alumni are still working towards the Fellowship’s ultimate goal of demonstrating that religion is a force for good in the world. Whether fundraising for malaria charities or joining the Peace Corps, taking postgraduate degrees in Interreligious Studies or educating university students, the Faiths Act Fellows Alumni continue to steer local communities towards multi-faith action against malaria.

Hilary Keachie (Christian) - raised over $2000 for Project Muso in a matter of days. She started teaching French to primary school students in north Toronto last winter and has remained the children’s education programmer for Deer Park United Church. |

Tim Brauhn (Catholic) - is the Director of Operations with the 1010 Project in Denver, Colorado, an NGO that works to alleviate poverty in Kenya. |

Kate Myers (Christian) - recently finished work with ECHO (Education for Hunger) in Fort Myers, Florida and has now begun a placement with the Peace Corps in Senegal. |

Nick Pang (Anglican) - is currently in the middle of a Master of Divinity degree and is pursuing ordination in the Anglican Church of Canada. He is involved ecumenically with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada through a part time internship at a Lutheran church in Montreal and sits on the committee that oversees the Anglican Church of Canada's Ecumenical, Interfaith, Government and Global Relationships. |

Karem Issa (Muslim) - is part of the senior management team at Temwa, an NGO running community-based projects in health education, sustainable agriculture & forestry, schools support and skills training in Malawi. He is currently based in Northern Malawi as Communications Manager, working on reporting processes, M&E and strategic planning. |

Michael Tweed (Presbyterian) – works for Accenture, a management consultancy company, and currently splits his time between London and Budapest, Hungary. He remains involved in his local church, St Marks in Clapham Junction, where he leads a homegroup and is on the welcome team. He also enjoys volunteering for a local international development charity, Medair. |

Miranda Rosenberg (Jewish) - has just finished working with the Florida Attorney General’s office, and is now off to Philadelphia to do her pre-requisite courses for medical school. |

Areeba Jawaid (Muslim) - after finishing her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, she went on the March of Remembrance and Hope, an experience in Germany and Poland that uses the holocaust to teach the dangers of intolerance. |

Sara Eftekhar – has recently finished her nursing degree at the University of British Columbia. Sara also founded the first Iona Pacifica interfaith youth group and keeps them active in fighting malaria. |

Avi Smolen (Jewish) - works as Communications Manager at Progressive Jewish Alliance & Jewish Funds for Justice, a national organisation committed to the belief that Jews have a responsibility to stand with all communities to live secure, fulfilling lives. He also serves as a member of the Oxfam NYC Action Corps and is a high school mentor through the interactive iMentor program |

Randa Kuziez (Muslim) - has finished her masters in the International Affairs Program at Washington University in St Louis, Missouri. She has been volunteering with young Muslim women and joined Islamic Relief efforts in Joplin, Missouri after the tornado. |

Sarah Baker (Christian) - has been working in Managua, Nicaragua with the Mennonite Central Committee for the past year and is due to return to the US in mid-July. |

Hafsa Arain (Muslim) - is currently applying for graduate school for Fall of 2012 in pursuit of a Masters of divinity. In the meantime, she is planning on doing some travelling to Spain and South Asia as well as hoping to do some volunteer work in Karachi, Pakistan. |

Bilal Hassam (Muslim) - has passed his medical school exams and will start his residency in London in September 2011. He has run seminars on Islamophobia, along with other roles engaged young Muslims and those of other faiths. |
