Andrews Seglah in Accra, Ghana
In order to raise awareness about malaria in his community, Andrews hosted an interfaith meeting of Imams, Pastors and community leaders in Accra in Ghana. The meeting focused on how different elements of their community can come together to fight poverty and preventable diseases such as malaria.
Andrews used this meeting to answer questions that the local community had about malaria, including how it can be tackled. By inviting people of different faiths to talk about how malaria impacts his local community, Andrews has not only improved relations between different faiths but has shown that it is much easier to combat diseases like malaria when faith leaders and congregations come together. By answering questions that religious leaders, as well as local women and children, had about malaria he has equipped them with life-saving knowledge.
