Ugandana Faiths Act volunteer Allen describes how his community are saying goodbye to malaria
New Life Christian Ministries International located in Kyaliwajjala Namugongo, Wakiso district in Uganda (East Africa) is a faith based organization and not only passionate about improving spiritaul lives of community members but also their welfare. As such, New Life Christian Ministries International has various initiatives started in the community to improve lives of women and children who are most vulnerable to needy situations.
Through New Life Chrochets Women group, New Life Christian Ministries International has made friends within and outside Uganda who wish well and support the ministries activities. Among these are Ms. Nel Quispel and Ms. Yvonne Welzen in Holland.
It was a great evening of joy on March 23rd when Ms. Yvonne Welzen donated 35 mosquito nets to the Crochets Women's Group, in addition to the bag-fulls of used clothes and shoes. The mosquito nets were very timely as the rainy season had returned and also mosquitoes were planning to feast on the families! These mosquito nettings were particularly effective as they are wedge-shaped and they zip up; this means that once you are inside, no mosquitoe can catch you.
Since families received the nets one month ago, not a single case of malaria has been identified among those families. Everybody in the group is saying BYE BYE MALARIA this World Malaria DAY! Many thanks to Nel and Yvonne in Holland for being great friends of Nabwojjo Community – and for putting their faith into action.
