The event was scheduled for the day before a major oral exam that all first years at the University of King’s College must take. In a kitchen adjacent to a major study area, we had volunteers baking cookies from 9:30-5:00. Some of these cookies were given to the studiers for a suggested donation while the rest were given to a local free dinner programme. Literature on Shine a Light, which promotes the education of girls in refugee camps, and the Millennium Development Goals was displayed. Monetary pledges were also gathered by some of the bakers.
